Frequently Asked Questions

A little about myself - I have been in finance/banking industry now for 23 years. Starting out in R&I as a junior (showing my age now), then changing over to the ANZ Bank. I became a Bank Manager at the age of just 26. One the youngest appointed.

I then chose to leave the banking sector as the bank was restructuring their whole system and even making our phone numbers silent and going to call centres. As I was raised in the country and ran my branch the same, this was not the way I wanted to serve my clients. So mortgage broking was the next logical choice. This way I could serve my clients like I always had, fully whilst continuing to know them and their circumstances well

I have now been involved in mortgage broking since 1999, which includes working with a developer selling and financing investment properties, investment properties of my own, major renovations to increase my property portfolio and now developments of my own.

I have also over the past 6 years been involved in the car industry, with dealers and car finance extensively. Hence I have involved myself with the 3 big purchases almost everyone does. Houses, cars and money!

What do I have to pay?

Reputable mortgage brokers do not charge for a consultation. You can access our panel of lenders, get help with your application, and get assistance with settlement, without paying anything to us. Mortgage brokers are paid commissions by the lenders. No matter what commissions are being offered, you will not pay more on your loan.

Can't I just go directly to my bank?

Most people just simply do not have the time to visit different lenders and search through hundreds of home loan options. There are so many choices it can all get quite confusing very quickly. We will be able to do a lot of the legwork for you and then talk you through the home loan products that best suit you. We will offer assistance, answer your questions quickly, and help negotiate a great deal with your chosen lender.

Can you help me with my current lender?

Many consider re-negotiating their current mortgage, either when a fixed loan term ends, or simply as a way or unlocking some of the equity in their home. These negotiations can be daunting to some people, even if you usually have a good relationship with your lender. We can negotiate on your behalf and help you to get the best deal possible. As well as having a broad knowledge of the different lenders, we already know you, and you don't have to re-tell your story or information.
